Following the news that the United States and the Soviet Union could join the nuclear arms race, Clarke is opposed to how much Superman should intervene. After receiving a letter from a related schoolletter, Superman travels to the fort of solitude of the fortress to seek advice from the spirits of his Cryptonian ancestors. They advise the earth to solve its problems or look for a new world where war has been boycotted.
